I just received an email that Madre, my limestones sculpture, was accepted into National Sculpture Society’s TX/OK Community Exhibition at Arts Fort Worth, but it is too heavy . They want a lighter one .
The NSS Community Exhibition is open to Texas and Oklahoma sculptors who are members of the NSS or the NSS Community of Texas and Oklahoma.
A Jury of Selection and a Jury of Awards was assembled after the submissions deadline. The Jury of Selection included elected members of the NSS whose responsibilities were to review works for inclusion in the show.
This sculpture was cut because they said they did not have the equipment to move it. In lieu of Madre, they selected a parrot.
The exhibit runs from Dec. 2, 2022 to Jan. 28, 2023
This was my first large stone sculpture that I completed in 2016 .
